  • The Faculty Advisory Committee on Sustainability (FACS) began as a grass roots faculty initiative to develop programming in Sustainability, broadly writ. While such sustainability initiatives have been active since the campus was founded, the idea for a FACS emerged in parallel with the 2020 space planning process, which provided new momentum and opportunity to become better integrated.  The initiative developed in three broad phases, the first two coinciding with calls for proposals directly related to space planning, and the third resulting in a call for (self) nominations and appointment of the committee by the Provost & EVC
  • In January 2020, the committee was renewed for two years with a modified structure to reflect the changing campus, many new members, and an expanded charge
