The UC Merced Campus Garden is committed to reducing food insecurity among students by cultivating and providing fresh, locally grown produce to support the Basic Needs Food Bank. Through sustainable practices and community engagement, the garden fosters a healthier, more food-secure campus.

Goals

Promote Sustainability: Implement environmentally responsible gardening practices that support long-term food production and ecological health.

Encourage Student Engagement: Provide hands-on volunteer opportunities that allow students to learn about gardening, sustainability, and food systems.

Build Community: Create a welcoming space where students can connect, collaborate, and contribute to a shared cause.

Educate and Empower: Increase awareness about food insecurity and inspire students to take part in solutions both on campus and beyond.
