UC Davis CMSI Climate Justice Seminar Series: Douglas Mundo

March 15, 2021 - 1:00pm

This virtual seminar and workshop series will explore how scientists can leverage their training and expertise to support the climate justice movement. The climate justice movement frames climate change not just as an environmental issue, but as a moral imperative to ensure that the needs of all people- regardless of race, geography or socioeconomic status- are included in the decisions about and solutions to climate change.

Join UC Davis' Coastal and Marine Sciences Institute in welcoming speaker Douglas Mundo, executive director of the Multicultural Center of Marin! For his personal accomplishments, professional achievements, and outstanding contributions to the Marin community, Douglas has been the recipient of awards such as the 2004 Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award from the Marin County Human Rights Commission, the 2008 Grassroots Organizer Award from the Social Justice Center of Marin, and the 2011 Spirit of Marin Award.
