Isabelle Haddad
Graduate Advisor - PhD Candidate - ihaddad@ucmerced.edu
Isabelle Haddad is currently a second-year PhD student in the Environmental Systems program at UC Merced, researching under her PI Sam Markolf. She was born and raised in upstate New York and has a bachelor’s in environmental science from SUNY ESF. Before coming to UCM, she worked at her local county, helping with sustainability efforts and participated in the development of the county’s first climate action plan. Her current research has involved looking into equity inclusion within climate action plans across the country, as well as equitable electric vehicle transitions. She is very excited to join the campus’s decarbonization core planning team and looks forward to engaging in efforts related to EDIJ.
Isabelle's project will focus on environmental justice, climate justice, and a just transition related to UC Merced and the surrounding community
including assessing equity/justice considerations to inform campus wide planning and decarbonization efforts. The fellow will support identifying existing academic synergies to develop and support justice and transition while support student engagement input and focus group coordination
