  • Enable elected officials to incorporate sustainability in their decisions and policies
  • Become a sustainable development resource to Valley businesses, governments and citizens
  • Incorporate environmental, social and economic sustainability into students' decision-making processes

CalPIRG Americorps Energy Service Corps
The goal of the Energy Service Corps at UC Merced is to educate the Merced community about ways to reduce energy use, improve energy efficiency, and ultimately to help make Merced an environmentally sustainable community.

Engineers for a Sustainable World

The Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) at the University of California, Merced (UCM) chapter is a student organization promoting sustainability through engineering. For members, our goal is to expose students to aspects of engineering projects and to work done by professors and professionals alike.

Power Save Green Campus
The Alliance to Save Energy's Power Save Green Campus program at UC Merced is on the cutting edge of sustainability. We have four primary pillars of focus: energy efficiency, water conservation, green work force development, and academic infusion.

Sustainability Council
The purpose of the Sustainability Council is to decrease the carbon footprint of UC Merced and/or Merced by organizing and/or funding outreach events and technological retrofit, to decrease the carbon footprint of other events and/or activities by funding sustainable aspects of events and/or activities and to generate a permeating mindset of sustainability across UC Merced and the City of Merced.

ASUCM Commissioner of Sustainability
The ASUCM Commissioner of sustainability and representatives shall act as liaisons between the UC Merced students, community and administration. The purpose of the Commissioner of sustainability is to implement sustainable projects on our campus in order to educate students, staff and faculty on energy efficiency consumption to reach the campus’s triple zero commitment by 2020.

Recycling and Composting Intern
Responsible for helping implement UC Merced’s Zero Waste program on campus.

Sustainability E-prescence intern
Provide online presence and electronic resources for all campus sustainability efforts.
